Consider this quote in 2008 by then candidate Barack Obama: “We cannot continue to rely on our military. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.” Six years later, such rhetoric is as much reality when 200 armed federal agents from the US Bureau of Land Management (BLM) over zealously stormed the Nevada ranch of Clive Bundy – instead of putting a lien on his property. This brazen exhibition of overt authoritarianism is cause for concern and every liberty-loving American citizen should take note.
Murder, rape and pillage. Death squads lining up hundreds of bound prisoners and executing them. Decapitating children and displaying their severed heads on sticks. Crucifixions of corpses. The atrocities against humanity being perpetrated by the genocidal Islamic terrorist organization known as ISIS are the epitome of evil.
Despite strong recommendations from military personnel warning of an expanding and dangerous gathering Islamic aggression in the middle east, President Obama nevertheless engaged in a precipitous and reckless withdrawal of troops from Iraq solely to satiate political interests. The vacuum he created has served to foster radicalism and ISIS is now flourishing.
Barbaric acts of terrorism and genocide by ISIS will continue unabated until which time as the United States military provides an incentive to do otherwise.
While the fatigue of war is tangible, terrorists do not rest. Nor can America afford to do so. There is no finish line in the war on terror. We must remain vigilant in the face of evil.
