Yesterday, the Senate rejected a short-term continuing resolution that would defund Planned Parenthood. The vote was 47-52, short of the 60 votes needed, with eight republicans breaking rank to vote with democrats.

After the release of ten Planned Parenthood videos which revealed the barbaric and illegal practice of selling aborted baby-parts for profit, most Americans were outraged. Yet, with an opportunity to defund Planned Parenthood – an organization which received over $500 million in taxpayer-funded subsidies last year – the following eight republican Senatorscast their votes to fund the aforementioned abortion mill, primarily through their perceived fear that a failure to do so would result in the republican party being blamed for ‘shutting down’ the government:

  1. Kelly Ayotte (New Hampshire)
  2. Susan Collins (Maine)
  3. Tom Cotton (Arkansas)
  4. Dean Heller (Nevada)
  5. Mark Kirk (Illinois)
  6. Lisa Murkowski (Alaska)
  7. Rand Paul (Kentucky)
  8. Ben Sasse (Nebraska)

Shameful.
