On February 11, 1997, Charlton Heston, actor and then Vice President of the National Rifle Association, spoke at the National Press Club and explained that the Second Amendment must be considered more essential than the First Amendment; that it is the first freedom that defends the rest of our liberties.

A true Statesman ~ excellent speech!
The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution was adopted on December 15, 1791, as part of the first ten amendments in the Bill of Rights.
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Whether from the president or throwback activists of the 1960’s, people need to be aware of false narratives driving propaganda through news to promote social change; in particular, the perpetuation of class warfare through racial unrest as a means to garner greater control, and diminish your right to keep and bear arms.
Presently, the left is demonizing police departments by suggesting that cops are killing inner city minorities at an alarming rate. Their mantras, that racism is running rampant, and we need more gun control laws, ring empty, however, when one considers the facts: in large cities with strict regulations on guns (e.g., Chicago), already over 300 people have died from gunshot wounds this year, and it is predominantly blacks killing other blacks.
In an effort to dispel such an irrational perception proffered through media sensationalism, that police officers are wantonly using their guns with reckless abandon, the 2014 New York City Annual Firearms Discharge Report provides some clarity:
- The NYPD responded to 4.8 million radio calls in 2014, of which nearly 67,000 involved weapons. Police officers made nearly 5000 arrests where a firearm was involved. Therein, 14 subjects were shot and injured and only eight subjects were shot and killed. This is near an historically low level in recent decades.
Racism? More gun control laws? Propaganda.
